The Albuquerque Biopark Zoo was founded in 1927 in Albuquerque, NM. Originally, this zoo was named the Rio Grande Zoo. The 64 acre zoo is home to approx. 200+ species. The zoo has memberships with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the Species Survival Plan. (In addition to the Zoo, Albuquerque Biopark also consists of the Albuquerque Aquarium, the Albuquerque Biopark Botanic Garden, and Tingley Beach.)
